Mmmmmm!!! Food!

my mom just got some new food and its not the same as the kind we had and its kind of hard and im afraid she cant eat it! is that possible?

Yes.. it is possible! They use their claws/pinchers to rip food apart much like many creatures. As long as the food is identified as a type of hermit crab food, they can handle it and its just fine! :)

It is eating dried fruit mix you can get in the pet stores for hermit crabs. My crabs love it! Its kind of like a "trail mix" but for crabs, hehe.

He looks like hes gonna shed cause of his dark skin. is it true that when a hermies skin turns really dark he/she is gonna shed?

hunny bear, I have read that one symptom of shedding is that their skin, especially their eyes, become an ashy color. You should provide your crabs with a variety of food. Think of it this way... would you like to ONLY be able to eat corn and spaghetti? You want options when eating too! Hahha
