As all living things..... I can only assume so, but also keep in mind that just as we humans, crabs have the choice if they want to live and die lonely. Personally, I'd enjoy the company up 'til the end! :)

is there a way to make a crab comforatable enough to mate? sinces they can't mate in captivity.

crab can only find a mate in the wild..... also did you know that most crab pets need a friend (not mate) to live!!!!!

If two pets became mates that woud be RARE!!!!

Yes! It is always best to provide a "friend" or "friends" for your crabs. They are social by nature!

They only mate near the sea so that their babies can live! But that doesnt mean they only need sand to live in (they get calcium from that) try Eco-Earth dirt with coconut fibers it holds in them oisture and is comfy to burry in after all would you rather sleep in cold itchy sand or warm comfy dirt if you had the choice? They need much moisture for molting. And bathe them alot!
