Do hermit crabs poop and pee?

Yes, dont you? Actually hermit crabs pee out of end of their antennas, but it such a small amount that you would never even notice it. And their poops look like super small tootsie rolls. I clean my crabitat once a week and use a scooper good enough to let the sand pass through, but not the poops. Posted by Picasa

When I play with my crabs I handle them carefully or I just let them out of their crabitat. I have have a small kiddy pool for them. When I do it put down a towel in the pool and let them wonder freely. Sometimes they even run! Its great to use a kiddy pool because I know they will be contained. (I bought the kiddy pool at Wal Mart for $7) I also put them in it when I am cleaning their tank.

I've had hermit crabs for a couple of years now, but this past month THREE of my crabs molted one after the other! I am very curious to know whether or not this is a contagious action or was it just random?? Also, my crabs have been eating a lot of their calcium block (which happens to be blue) and so lately they have been pooping blue! I just need to make sure this is safe for them to be doing. I would really appreciate it if you could let me know anything about this!! Thanks!
